Lincoln Middle School hopes to hold onto its domination this season in the championship round of the Alameda Education Foundation?s Middle School Sports Volleyball Championships this Tuesday, Nov. 13, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club. ?
Both the A (varsity) and B (junior varsity) Lincoln teams will be defending their No. 1 ranking Tuesday, but if the competitive matches seen in the playoffs are any indication, it won?t be a walk in the park.
In the A division, the Lions will face the Academy of Alameda, who edged out perennial favorite Wood in the playoffs in a third set nail-biter, 22 - 20. ?Wood will challenge in the B teams finals, however, having beaten out No. 3 ranked Nea/ACLC in two games.
The B team match begins at 4 p.m., followed by the A team match. ?All teams are co-ed.
Middle School Volleyball is a program of the Alameda Education Foundation (AEF). ?The AEF Middle School Sports program also includes boys and girls basketball in the winter and track and field in the spring. Teams based at the Academy of Alameda, LIncoln, Wood and a combined Nea/ACLC team compete. ?
