For example, at the beginning of the roleplay when you talked to a guy/girl, he/she would respond with a 'love-bar' that said something like this:
"Derpy Doowittle"
? ? ? ? ? ? ?
That's because they haven't developed an opinion of you yet- but you can change that very quickly. After you spend a while talking with them to figure out what kind of things they like, you can begin to steer the conversation in a better direction- which racks up the 'love-points'! You might see something like this after doing that for a while:
"Derpy Doowittle"
? ? ? ? ? ? ?
Which means they like you, just a little bit. I was thinking that after a certain amount of hearts that they would consider themselves your 'Acquaintance', 'Friend', 'Crush', 'Boyfriend/Girlfriend', 'Fiance', etc..
But it could also go bad too; say you can't quite figure out this person and his/her likes and dislikes, so you keep making wrong choices in the conversation. The bar would go kind of like this:
"Derpy Doowittle"
? ? ? ? ? ? ?
- and it would go from them feeling 'Distaste', 'Aggravation', 'Anger', 'Hatred', etc. towards you.
One idea I had for a roleplay with this involved would be mock 'Quests', where in order to progress in the actual storyline and get to your goal, whatever it might be, you have to develop relationships with certain people. In order to develop said relationships you can either give them gifts to boost their points or you can do favors for them. The catch would be that by doing those favors you might be sacrificing your relationship with other people in the process.
There are a huge variety of plots that can go with this kind of thing, and I'd be willing to discuss it over and work out the details, but first I want to know if there's anyone interested!
